Murrieta Community Life Groups

Small groups, fellowship groups, life groups... whatever you call them... at Murrieta Community Church we are one of the Murrieta churches that believes its Life Groups put the "community" in the name Murrieta Community Church. We're not a church WITH small groups, we're a church OF small groups.

Murrieta churches are catching on that small groups are absolutely critical! A thriving spiritual life includes connecting relationally and sharing life with each other in a small group. In studying Jesus' life, during the week, after Jesus leaves church, he goes to a house and shares life with people in fellowship groups. That’s because you don’t really know a person until you get into a person's home. Small groups are a huge part of MCC. You may have to get used to this… but people of MCC have poor awareness of boundaries when it comes to life groups. You may laugh but people of MCC get accused of inviting themselves over to peoples' houses! And, I have to be honest... when it comes to small groups... we really have NO PROBLEM with that! Fellowship groups are that important! We’re not gonna lie... we want to see the inside of your home! When we come over for life groups, you'll have to forgive us in advance if we wiggle the doorknob to check to see if its unlocked before you get to the door!

Because fellowship groups mean so much to us, we truly believe it's one thing to say, “Yeah, I know that person. They go to my church. I see them Sundays.” and “Yeah, I really know that person. They're in small groups with me. They have a velvet Elvis painting hanging above their mantle in their living room.” AT MCC you aren't allowed to saying, “The people at MCC are nice – I like everyone in general… but nobody in particular.” That means you're not in Life groups. We don’t want people to connect with 500 people… just a few! We don't care if you like everybody in general! We really care when you say, “I LOVE… these people in particular! I do fellowship groups with them.” And at MCC we don't even care if those people go to Murrieta Community Church! The bottom line is. Are you in small groups with those who push you forward in a relationship with Jesus?

Be careful, when fellwoship groups get together in a home, caring tends to break out! And remember, the bulk of REAL MINISTRY was happening not at church! It was happening in a home! And because this is the case... because we believe so strongly in fellowship groups, we'll always be bold in asking... "IS YOUR HOME AVAILABLE FOR MINISTRY?"

Life Groups are where real ministry is supposed to happen. And spiritual life also happens bests in fellowship groups. Life Groups will always the central ministry ministry at MCC.
